Localised Cryostimulation

What Is It?

A pressurised stream of liquid nitrogen vapour is directed onto the affected body part creating a powerful icing response. The cold is dry and not uncomfortable. Laser beams are used to ensure that the correct distance from the skin is used and these also advise when the skin has reached the correct temperature for the treatment to work.

How Does It Work?

The blood vessels constrict, immediately decreasing inflammation and swelling in the affected area by rapidly flushing the tissue of fluid and waste.   As the body begins to warm, the area is flooded with regenerative blood flow. This allows for a greater range of motion in the targeted area as well.

Almost any part of the body can be treated externally with the localised cryostimulation treatment. Some of the most common treated areas include the hands, neck, upper back, lower back, shoulder, elbow, wrist, hip, knee, ankle and heel for plantar fasciitis.

Unless you incorporate a massage in your treatment you will not be touched at any time and only the area being treated will be uncovered.

What Can It Help With?

  • Muscle and joint repair
  • Reducing pain
  • Repairing damaged tissue
  • Arthritic and joint pain
  • Reducing inflammation
  • Speed up recovery including post-operative surgery
  • Sciatica
  • Back pain
  • Reducing the appearance of scars, acne, eczema and psoriasis
  • Shingles rash in order to reduce pain and inflammation in the affected area.
  • Boosting Immune System
  • Cellulite

As part of the Cryostimulation process the body releases endorphins elevating your mood so if you’re feeling a bit low a Localised Cryostimulation treatment can help.

How Many Treatments Do I Need?

This all depends on your condition. Something that you have suffered with for a long time will not be alleviated after one treatment. A stiff neck may be eased after one treatment but for more chronic conditions you may need up to 10 treatments before you see a difference. Really, it’s how long is a piece of string, as everyone is different.

How Often Do I Need A Treatment?

The localised cryostimulation treatment continues working for six hours after your treatment. For maximum benefits the ideal treatment plan to alleviate a condition would be one in the morning and one in the evening.

If this isn’t possible then one a day would be ideal and then one treatment every 2 or 4 weeks to maintain. If you are regularly participating in sport it’s recommended that you have one treatment a week or once a fortnight to maintain muscle fitness.

Localised Cryostimulation Facials

The localised cryostimulation process activates the body to use its optimal defence mechanism which reduces the levels of oxidative stress in the treatment area. The body is able to neutralise free radicals, toxins and repair cellular damage more efficiently. This will prevent and help heal the damage of oxidative stress and in turn provide a powerful anti-ageing effect. The treatment also activates collagen production in the deeper layers of the skin, increasing the skin’s capacity to rejuvenate itself, regain elasticity, tighten, appear smoother and give a youthful glow. It also helps with acne and acne scarring. Cryo Facials also help with dark circles under the eyes.

Creeside Clinic Cryo facials can be an individual treatment. Your skin will be cleansed, exfoliated, given a Cryo treatment and thenserum and moisturiser applied. For a more in depth treatment you can add it onto any facial treatment including AlumierMD peels.
